Sustainability Clients

We are working with a manufacturing company in the following ways:

  • Helping them reduce their energy bills through the purchase of energy efficient equipment.
  • Advising them on how to take advantage of government incentive programs.

They are in the process of purchasing all new equipment, this is an excellent time for them to take advantage of NJ incentives offered for the purchase of energy efficient equipment. To date, they have saved tens of thousands of dollars in rebates and anticipate earning several thousand more rebate dollars from their remaining purchases.

We are advising a commercial property management and development firm in the following ways:

  • Advising them on their energy efficient purchases and rebates.
  • Helping them purchase energy from a secondary source.
  • Working with them to create and implement a sustainability strategy that is incorporated into their core business strategy.

The firm has spent a few thousand dollars of energy efficient purchases over the last year and did not take advantage of incentives offered through the state. We are helping them to collect their rebate monies as there is a one year time limit from the date of purchase to earn their incentive dollars. Purchasing energy from a secondary market can save a company thousands of dollars, especially a company that is in the business of operating buildings. 30% of a building's operating expense comes from energy costs and energy can be 3% of a company's total revenue. We are helping this firm save thousands of dollars in energy costs through purchasing energy from a secondary market. In addition, we are developing a sustainability strategy that involves collaboration and participation from every employee and department so the organization can collectively reach their sustainability goals while improving employee productivity and morale.

A New York City fitness center asked us how they could reduce their electricity bills. Here is what we are doing for them:

  • Arranged a comprehensive and low-cost energy audit through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). They provided a 10 page document including suggestions for energy efficient purchases.
  • Provide ongoing counsel regarding their purchasing efforts which has helped them to reduce their monthly electric bills by 33%. The estimated savings over the next 10 years is over $20,000.
